Tips for changes and maintenance
When Chrome OS is installed, it is locked in a so called kiosk mode for public screens. Below you find tips for changes and maintenance on Chrome OS.
Go to Chrome OS
When the device is installed with the PinToMind player-app, it automatically goes to the display of your public screen from PinToMind, and is locked in a so called kiosk mode. To get out of the player-app and to go to Chrome, do this:
- Restart the Chromebit and press CTRL + ALT + S when the start-image is displayed.
- Log in with the Google-account you used when you set the Chromebit up.
Change the wireless network
Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome.
- Click on the status-field in the lower right area of the screen.
- Click on the Network-icon and make the changes you wish.
- Turn off and restart the device.
Vertical screen
Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome.
- Click on the status-field in the lower right area of the screen.
- Click on the Screen-icon and select direction.
- Turn off and restart the device.
Un-install the PinToMind player-app
Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome.
- Open the address chrome://extensions
- Click on ”Manage kiosk-apps”.
- Click on the app and delete with X all the way to the right, and click "Done".
Change which screen is displayed
- Find the device in your list of screens and click on "More...".
- Later you select which screen to display on the device. This can easily be changed later.
Shortcuts in PinToMind Player
When the display has started, you can use these shortcuts:
- CTRL + SHIFT + 5 reloads the content of the display
- CTRL + SHIFT + 9 restarts the chrome device
