Settings and maintenace in Chrome OS

When PinToMind Player for Chrome OS is installed, it is locked in a so called kiosk mode for public screens. Below you find tips for changes and maintenance on Chrome OS.

Go to Chrome OS

When the device is installed with the PinToMind player-app, it automatically goes to the display of your public screen from PinToMind, and is locked in a so called kiosk mode. To get out of the Player app and to go to Chrome, do this:

  1. Restart the Chrome device and press CTRL + ALT + S when the start-image is displayed.
  2. Log in with the Google-account you used when you set the Chrome device up.

Change the wireless network

Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome.

  1. Click on the status-field in the lower right area of the screen.
  2. Click on the Network-icon and make the changes you wish.
  3. Turn off and restart the device.

Portrait or Landscape display

Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome.

  1. Click on the status-field in the lower right area of the screen.
  2. Click on the Screen-icon and select direction.
  3. Turn off and restart the device.

Shortcuts in PinToMind Player

When the display has started, you can use these shortcuts:

  • CTRL + SHIFT + 5  reloads the content of the display
  • CTRL + SHIFT + 9  restarts the chrome device

Un-install the PinToMind Player app

Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome.

  1. Open the address chrome://extensions
  2. Click on ”Manage kiosk-apps”.
  3. Click on the app and delete with X all the way to the right, and click "Done".

Change the channel displayed on the device (PinToMind 3)

  1. On your PinToMind account: Go to "Screens".
  2. Click "⚙️" on the screen you want to change the channel on.
  3. Select which channel you want to display under "CHANNEL".
  4. The channel you selected now starts displaying on your screen.

Change the screen displayed on the device (PinToMind Classic)

  1. On your PinToMind account: Go to "Menu" -> "Screens" -> "View devices"  
  2. Select the screen you want to display under "SELECT A SCREEN".
  3. The screen you selected now starts displaying on your device.

Reset Chrome OS to Factory Settings

Follow the points below if you wish to reset the Chrome device to start over, or to use it for something else.

  1. Go to Chrome OS and open Google Chrome
  2. Un-install the PinToMind Player app if this is installed.
  3. Open ”Settings” in Chrome, and click "Display advanced settings".
  4. Click ”Powerwash”, and then ”Restart”.
  5. When the window opens that says ”Reset this Chrome-device”, click ”Powerwash”.
  6. Confirm Powerwash - ”Continue”.
  7. The device will then delete the user information and restart the device.
