Ugoos AM6 and X3 (Android 9.0)

🔌 This is a guide for Ugoos devices running Android 9.0. The guide is written for the models AM6 and X3.

Start-up and Install ROOT
- The first time you start your Ugoos device, you need to choose which home menu to use. We recommend "Launcher3" which increases user-friendliness. Press "ALWAYS" to avoid having to select this again later.
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote, and go to ⚙️"Settings" followed by "Network & Internet" and connect to your wireless network.
We recommend to update the device to the latest version:
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button and go to ⚙️"Settings" -> "Device Preferences" -> "About" -> "System Update" -> "CHECK NOW".
To be able to update the app automatically and restart at night, 'ROOT' must be set:
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button and go to ⚙️"Settings" followed by "Ugoos settings" /"X3 settings" (depending on model) -> "ROOT" and select "Install root" -> "Silent".
Installation of PinToMind Player
Open Google Chrome (See image below).
- Search or type "insk.no/apk" in the address field in the browser. Open and then click "Download".NOTE: During the installation, you will need to give necessary access to the app, with e.g. "Settings" and "Allow".
- Exit Google Chrome using the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
Open the app 💾 "Total Commander" as shown in the image belom. (The first time you start "Total Commander" it needs access to files on your device.)
Select "Downloaded files" (see image below).
- Select "app-release.apk" and "Install" to install PinToMind Player.
- Select "Done".
- Exit "Total Commander" with the ↩️ "Return"-button on the remote.
- Go to "Apps" (Menu selection in the middle, circle with six dots).
- Find and select PinToMind Player to start the app. When the app is started, a code is displayed on the screen.
a. If you use PinToMind 3: On another computer or mobile: Log in to your PinToMind-account. Go to "Screens" in the left menu and select "+ CONNECT A NEW SCREEN".
b. If you use PinToMind Classic: On another computer or mobile: Log in to your PinToMind-account in https://app.pintomind.com/connect.
- Enter the code now displayed on the screen, to connect the device to your account.
- Choose which screen (PinToMind Classic) or channel (PinToMind 3) should be displayed on this.You can change which screen or channel is displayed on this device at any time.
- The channel/screen you selected now starts displaying on your device.
Thats it! PinToMind Player is now installed and the device is ready for use.
Ugoos Settings
Shortcuts in PinToMind Player
Once the display has started, you can use these shortcuts (press on the remote control):
- Reload the content of the display: "Up-Up-Down-Down"
- Restart the app: "Middle-Up-Left-Down-Down" (This only works if Root is installed. See the section above on "ROOT").
Go to PinToMind Player
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Select "Apps": The menu selection in the middle, a circle with six dots.
- Select PinToMind Player.
- The Player app starts. ✅
Change network
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Network & Internet".
- Select and connect to wireless network.
- Go back to PinToMind Player.
Change clock
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Device Preferences" -> "Date & time".
- Make sure that "Automatic date & time" is active.
- Select "Set time zone" and find your time zone.
- Go back to PinToMind Player.
Remove status bar
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Ugoos settings" -> "System bars".
- Turn off "Show status bar" and "Show navigation bar".
- Go back to PinToMind Player.
Landscape/Portrait
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Device Preferences" -> "Display" -> "Screen rotation"
- Select "Force portrait" or "Force landscape".
- Go back to PinToMind Player.
Change screen resolution
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Device Preferences" -> "Display" -> "Screen resolution"
- Under "Display Mode" select screen resolution.
- Go back to PinToMind Player.
Delete app
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Apps" -> "PinToMind Player".
- Select option to uninstall the app.
Factory reset
- Press the 🏠 "HOME"-button on the remote.
- Go to ⚙️"Settings".
- In the list, select "Device preferences" -> "Reset".
