Display Calendar
Give access to your calendar in Integrations, or paste the .ics address of your calendar into the Calendar post, and PinToMind automatically displays the calendar events from Google, Microsoft, Outlook, iCloud and many more calendars.
Events that have passed automatically disappear from the screens and new ones are continuously displayed.
☝️ There are two options to display a calendar in the Calendar post:
- Authenticate with med Microsoft or Google account to give access to calendars. This way is authenticated and secure. The calendar does not have to be available online.
- With ics address. The calendar you want to display must be available as a subscription calendar in ics format. The calendar must also be available on the internet, either with an open or hidden address (URL). The calendar must not be protected with a username and password.

Give access to display Microsoft Calendar
The integration with Microsoft Calendar is in beta version. Get in touch if you have feedback or questions.
- Select "Library" in the left menu, followed by "Integrations".
- Select "Microsoft Calendar".
- Click "Connect" and log in with your Microsoft account. You must give "PinToMind / Infoskjermen" access to retrieve data from your account.*
- If the authentication is successful, you get a list of the resources available on your account. Click on "Add to library" on the resources you want to add, and click on "Use in new post" if you want to create a new post.
- Once you have authenticated, you can also create a new post by selecting the Calendar post in the list of new posts. You can then choose a Microsoft calendar from the library. If the resource is not found in the library, you can go back to the integration in the library and add it.
*Due to settings in the Microsoft system for your organisation, the system administrator may need to approve pairing with new apps. Enter reason in "Enter justification for requesting this app" and select "Request approval". The request will be sent to the system manager in your organisation, and you will receive an email when it has been approved.

How to find the sharing link, ics address, of your calendar
The procedure can be different for your calendar version; contact your system administrator, or search the calendar provider's help pages if you cannot find the options described below.
Find ics address for Google Calendar
- Open your Google-account in a browser and go to the calendar.
- Select ⋮ and Settings for the calendar you want to share.
- Copy the calendar address in iCal-format. The adress should end with .ics.
- Paste the .ics-address in the field for address when you create a calendar post.
Tip: If the iCal code is hidden, it must be opened in your Google-calendar settings.
Find ics address for Outlook Calendar (Office 365)
Setup may differ in different versions, installations, or license types of Office. A tip is to see how it is done in your version, by searching for ICS on Outlook's own help pages.
- Open your Office365-account in a browser and go to the calendar.
- Select "Share Calendar" from the Calendar-folder in your Home-menu.
- Right-click on the calendar that you want to share and select "Sharing permissions".
- In the field "Send a sharing invitation in email", fill in an external e-mail-address to yourself, e.g. Gmail or iCloud. Select that you should be able to see all the details, and click "Share".
- When you receive the e-mail with the invitation, it will say at the bottom: "Having trouble viewing the calendar? Try adding an Internet calendar and providing this URL." Copy the address which is linked in this text. The adress should end with .ics.
- Paste the .ics-address in the field for address when you create a calendar post.
Find ics address for iCloud Calendar
- Open your iCloud-account in a browser and go to the calendar.
- Click on the sharing-icon to the right of the name for the calendar you want to display.
- Select "Public calendar" if this is not already selected.
- Copy the address by clicking "Copy link".
- Paste the .isc-address in the field for address when you create a calendar post.
If the address you paste starts with webcal://, change it to https://.
Display several calendars in the same post
You can merge several calendars into the same Calendar post, and in that way create a great overview of what is happening.
Paste multiple calendar addresses, or choose from the library. You can give each calendar a color and a name, so it's easy to see which calendar an event comes from.
Automatic and manual update
The calendar post is automatically updated approx. every 20 minutes, but you can click on the calendar to bring up the option to change how often you want the automatic update to happen.
If you have made an update in the calendar and want to send it to the calendar post directly, it is possible to click on "Trigger update now" on the same page.
Display options
Calendars can be used for many things. Choose calendar display and adapt these to fit your use under advanced options.
We recommend testing different settings, and previewing the post on the channel it will be displayed, to see which settings best suit your use.
